TCGA Juniors play well as we reach the mid point of the regular season

The weather held off just enough for the last group to finish for another successful TCGA Junior Golf Tour Tournament.  This week's tournament was at Fire Fox home of the "The Witch" golf course, a short but tight golf course located in Lisle.  Of all the courses so far, Fire Fox proved to be more of a position golf course, rewarding well placed tee shots.  34 golfers enjoyed much cooler conditions to post some more low scores.

Hogan Bendert's bid for a 4th consective win in the 10-12 age group was denied by D.J. Griffiths.  D.J. birdied the first hole, making eight 4's and one 5 en route to shooting a 37.  Hogan and Zach Sitzman tied for 2nd with matching 40's.  These three players, who were paired together had a very competitive and exciting group.

Nathan Cavaluzzi used a hot back nine to take medalist honors in the 13-15 age group.  After a 39 on the front side, Nathan made birdies on 13, 15 and 16 to shoot an even par 34 on the back side.  This is Nathan's second top three this season.

Although there were onlly five players in the 16-18 age group, it was a tight battle between Chris Hatch and Troy Gates.  Chris used a steady string of pars and avoided big numbers to win with a score of 76.  Only one shot behind at 77, Troy recorded his second consecutive top five finish.

A special thanks go out to Bob, Jody & Heather Hodges for hosting us today at their course.  We hope to see every at Tioga and Endwell Greens next week!
