Pheasant Hill Country Club provided a great test of golf today for the TCGA Junior golfers. With very windy conditions and small but undulating greens, the newest golf course in the area showed its teeth. There was another great turnout today with 47 players, all gearing up for the TCGA Junior Tour Championship coming up in less than two weeks!
Hogan Bendert extended his lead in the player of the year points race with his fourth win of the season in the 10-12 age group. After being four over through the first three holes, Hogan settled down with birdies on 13 and 14. His 41 was good by two shots over Jonah Bennett, who recorded his second top three of the season.
Adam Blackwell had a phenomenal round today in the 13-15 age group. Adam had the lowest score out of any age group today with a two over 73. With three birdies on 1, 5 and 18, Adam won by the largest margin of the year, nine shots. Richard and John Pedro also had solid rounds at their home club with matching 82's.
Chris Stricek came away with a one shot victory in the 16-18 age group, winning his third event of the season. After an even par front nine, Chris stayed patient and bounced back after a double bogey on 17 with a birdie on the par 5 18th. Dan Molter finished 2nd with a score of 75. We wish Dan and Chris along with follow local golfers Pat Milkovich and Daniel Gridley good luck at the New York State Junior and Boys Amateur Championship up at the Country Club of Mendon.
A special thanks to Joel Deeter and the entire staff at Pheasant Hill for allowing us to use their golf course. As of right now there are 80 golfers signed up for En-Joie. We are working with Mike Deuel, the head professoinal at En-Joie, to get as many golfers in as possible. Be sure to sign up with Traditions at the Glen for the Tour Championship as soon as possible to play in this great two day event!
